Our Work
Welcome to the Aloha Food Foundation’s project page! Here, you’ll discover the diverse and impactful initiatives we are undertaking to combat hunger and improve nutrition for the elderly, disabled, and children in Hawaii. These are just some of the projects we are involved with. We will update this page periodically to provide insights into our ongoing efforts to advance our mission. Our projects are designed to address the unique needs of our community, and we invite you to join us in making a difference.

01
Food Donations
Our Food Donations project is at the heart of our mission. We are committed to securing a wide variety of food donations to ensure that our beneficiaries receive nutritious and culturally diverse meals. From fresh produce and dairy products to non-perishable items and specialty foods, we work tirelessly to gather donations from local farmers, grocery stores, and community partners. This project not only helps to reduce food waste but also ensures that everyone in our community has access to healthy and delicious food.

Certified Kitchen for Meal Preparation
To ensure the highest quality and safety of the meals we provide, we prepare meals in certified kitchens. Our dedicated team of volunteers prepares balanced meals that meet the dietary needs of our beneficiaries. The certified kitchen allows us to maintain strict hygiene standards and create meals that are both nutritious and tasty. This project is crucial in supporting our food distribution efforts and ensuring that every meal we deliver is prepared with care and love.

Volunteer Engagement
Volunteers are the backbone of the Aloha Food Foundation. Our Volunteer Engagement project focuses on recruiting, training, and retaining dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a difference. We offer various opportunities for volunteers to get involved, from meal preparation and delivery to organizing fundraising events and community outreach. By engaging volunteers, we not only expand our capacity to serve but also foster a sense of community and shared purpose.

Outreach in Upper Puna
Our Outreach in Upper Puna project aims to connect with rural residents who are in need of food delivery services and to recruit volunteers from these areas. Upper Puna is home to many individuals and families who face barriers to accessing nutritious food. Through targeted outreach efforts, we identify those in need and provide regular food deliveries to ensure they do not go hungry. Additionally, we encourage local residents to join us as volunteers, helping to strengthen the community and support their neighbors.
